Oprah, Jackie Kennedy, Mother Teresa all in one

Not sure if this is new to anyone but it is to me. I'm amazed at how this woman has the faces of Mother Teresa, Oprah and Jackie Kennedy all in the same place on a quilt but seen from different vantage points. I'm amazed at the workmanship and astonished that it didn't get better awards. Anyway, take a look and see if you could do this. I know I can't. :-)

I have seen this quilt, and while it is amazing I just don't understand why the quilter chose to combine these three very different women in a quilt.

She says in an IQA interview that it was because each of the women were inspirational to her (and that she thought they might have been inspirational to other quilters/quilt lovers).

In fairness, I don't think it was so much about creating a theme as showing off a particular technique that won her so many awards.

May have been her favorite 3. I'm more interested in the concept and putting it together. Stunning work!

My sister saw this quilt in North Carolina a month or two ago and sent me a picture that she took. The technique certainly is interesting for the 3-D effect, but also the quilting on the frame is intricate.

All I can say regardless of the women chosen, it is an amazing quilt, and that is what we should be talking about!

I had never seen this quilt. It is amazing. I have seen this done on billboards. I would never have thought of it done on a quilt. I thought like some of you about the selection of ladies, but then I thought a bit more and realized that they are each known world wide for different types of fame, but I go with Mother Teresa's thinking that I heard her say once. I try to see the eyes of Jesus in everyone I see. That has always stayed with me.

There is a book out now to teach the technique! I saw this quilt too, amazing.
