While surfing for a pattern I found the following sites for tons of free stain glass patterns - then it dawned on me that they could be easily be used for paper piecing or applique.

Hi,

I'm new to the quilting board and also the owner of one of the web sites metioned above. I wanted to thank the person that posted the links and to tell you that there is search page on my site linking to specific patterns. You can find it at http://www.freepatternsforstainedgla...rnssearch.html If you want, for instance, flower patterns, just click on flower patterns and you will come to a page with all free flower patterns for stained glass found on the web.

I plan on making a page just for free quilting patterns, including applique, so if any of you know of a source for
them I'd certainly appreciate your help.

I have several quilts that I started, but never got around to finishing. I guess it's time to get them out and do some work. One is made from pieces of fabric belonging to friends I had when we lived overseas. I thought it would be a lovely memory quilt.

Thanks for reading my ramblings,
Sue

I was thinking of adding some trees, walkway, etc. to the block. I have done applique but am not sure how to add these to paper piecing projects. I could fuse the shrubs on the block but do not think a walkway fused on top would look good. I am still in the thinking stage of this block.

Thanks Sue for your great webpage. I ran across your page while surfing for stained glass angel quilt patterns and naturally it brought up stained glass ones too, when I realized how easily these could be adapted to quilting, so I decided to share with the group. If you look through the LINKS tab at the bottom of this page you will find a lot of websites you can use.
Be sure to share your page with us when you start working on it. Thanks.

Are you trying to add these items to an already pieced block or are you paper piecing or appliqueing the whole block? If it is not answered here - post a topic question - maybe with a picture and someone will be able to help you. We have so many people with years of experience that will glady lend you some inspiration.

Thank you for your question because I never gave it a thought to applique the whole block. If I do that, then I can add the trees, walkway, cross on the church, etc. I can always paper piece another house. Thanks again.

Thank Dream56. I'll go through those links at the bottom of the page and also see what else I can find through the search engines.
