As most of you know my SON IN LAW is currently serving in Afghanistan. The Iowa RED BULLS have lost 2 soldiers this week. I have heard of quilts of valor but had no idea what to do until My daughter forwarded this on to me. How many of you can help out with this one.

Many, many of us are already working on or have sent blocks for this cause.

Bless your son, his unit, and your military family.

This is a great project. My quilting group has been busy making stars for it. I know a lot of others doing the same. Makes me feel good to be able to help.

Our sewing group is also working on some. :-D

Please say "thank you" to your son from me. I have participated in this Moda endeavor. Thank you for sharing.

I already have. Would love to hear how many they have received and see some of the finished quilts.

This is a great project. Our new local quilt shop is involved in this "Accent on Quilts" in Orange City Fl.

We lost a young man (23) in our church family recently. He only had 3 more weeks until he would have been home. I think I'll ask his Mother if I can make her a quilt. God Bless Your Son and God Bless All our men and women serving. I have a niece in Iraq. This is her 3rd tour.

I love this project and have printed out the pattern to make some. My heartfelt thanks to your son and the rest of the guys/gals who have been and are in harm's way to protect our freedoms. My sympathies to all those that we have lost in this cause no matter your party affiliation, religion, skin color, sex, etc.

I am working on my stars right now to mail in. I am from a military family and this is near and dear to my heart.

Jammin' Jane 04-16-2011 11:03 PM

Just think of all the donated quilt blocks and all the beautiful qults that will be make! What a great project! And what a great way to get involved and say "thanks" to our troops!

jprusky 04-17-2011 03:36 AM

Our Crazy Horse Quilting Group in Lake Havasu, AZ (snowbirds, both American and Canadian) made 17 quilts of valour this winter. It was a project that brought us all closer together as it was a group effort and we were all thrilled with our achievements.
