someone sent me this site link, but it was AFTER the show had aired here. Did any of you get to catch it?? Was it worth seeing??? Would you buy the DVD set to watch it again, or show at a guild meeting??

I have had this bookmarked and have done a search on my tv frequently. I cannot find when it is airing. Somehow, I seem to remember something about possibly airing in September but I don't know where I got that information! I just wrote an e-mail to my local PBS station to see if they are going to air it. I noticed on the the website that it says a 9 part documentary AVAILABLE for public broadcasting stations, so maybe our PBS channels didn't pick it up? I will post after I get a response from my PBS channel.

i just wrote to my local pbs station, too. i hope they will carry it. it looks quite comprehensive. it looks like a great value for $40.

I am thinking that ANY Library and guild library should carry this...so I am buying two..one to keep and one to donate to the guild library!

I sent an email message to the contact address it gave asking for a list of pbs stations they knew of that were planning to air the documentary and got the following reply from their PR person:
"If you go to the whyquiltsmatter facebook page we post what we are sure of there. Otherwise you have to go to your local station for listing info. Stations only post a month ahead so you will not see any future airings anywhere. Thanks for your email.. The DVD contains a number of wonderful Extras that will not appear on TV airings by the way. My PBS station does not have ANY quilt programs at all. Makes me reconsider my contribution next year.

I pruchased the dvds. Haven't watched them yet, (on this board tooo much)and haven't seen on PBS. Sounded good so I bought them. I need to watch them soon. Will post my opinion.

From what I can tell, this is not going to be on until September and not all PBS stations will be showing it. The snippets on this website are really good. I think I will buy the DVD set if it isn't shown on our PBS.

I bought and have received the DVD set. So far, I've only had time to watch the first three episodes and I have no regrets about the cost. It is well done - a class act for sure. Also, tons of information and really interesting stuff so far. I will be giving this some time at our group's functions too.
As to PBS, I have searched and searched and am not able to develop anything definitive either. Mostly, I got the DVDs as I don't think there's ever been a "series" of which I managed all episodes even with full scheduling information, so I just bought it as soon as I heard about it (after watching the snippets on their site). I'd recommend it for sure. |

I taped it to watch over and over. It was excellent. I just ordered 3 DVDs from PBS yesterday.
The special in September is going to air in KY on Sept 5. Can't wait! |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 08:58 PM. |
