These are lovely pictures, a real slice of history.

We automatically think of all the hardships these people had,
but we don't remember the family closeness they (I-we) had
in those days. As a child I had no idea that we were poor, since
all those I knew were in the same boat, all the family paddling
in time with each other. We knew that to get something, we sure had to work for it and work hard.

Now we have far more, as personal wealth goes, but I don't
think that we live in such a marvelous time. All I have to do is
look at our teens who are given everything and believe that a
high paying job is their's, simply because they have been told
all their lives that they deserve the best. Unfortunately, few of
them have been taught to work at any low paying job they can
get. One of my brothers has a security firm, and has mainly older, retired and simi-retired people working for him. He says the older ones get up, dress up and show up for work. Some of
the younger ones go off to parties and never show up for guard duty and don't bother phoning in, and are highly offended when told they are fired!!
