Please don't put pins in your mouth

I know it's an older article (2012) but I think the lesson is timeless. I never understood just how serious the injuries could be.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this, Peggi!

I'm certainly guilty of doing it.

Thank you for sharing this article. It’s an eye opener! I hadn’t even imagined the risk.

Wow...This is incredibly scary! I must admit, I am guilty of doing this...ALL.THE.TIME. In fact, the entire time I read the article, I had a pin in my mouth. I'm so used to doing it, it's become a habit I need to work at breaking!

LAF2019 02-07-2020 08:25 PM

Goodness, that's scary!

Just, wow. So scary and eye opening. I have put a pin in my mouth but I don’t pin very often. I will certainly try to remember not to do it again.

Guilty! I did get a pin all the way into my mouth once, but I was able to remove it. I also put them in my top instead of in the pin cushion. I've been poked a few times. I've been trying not to do that with a new cat.

Holy cow!!!!!!!! Won’t ever do THAT again!!!

I confess to being guilty of this. I use large head pins and alway put them in sharp end first. This has convinced me to stop doing this immediately! No more pins as of this moment.

One of my friends swallowed a straight pin, and the E R didn't believe her until they finally took the x ray. Another friend swallowed a needle, and it went into her lung. They got it without surgery ( scoped) and lectured on the dangers. Me I swallowed a penny as a kid, and I guess that taught me not to put needles and pins in my mouth. Good article.
