If you have never seen these "Worst Quilts Ever" (Ami Simms) you are in for a treat. I have looked at the winner and the next one - Gold Quilt and read the writeup and tears are running down my face. I have lots more to look at. The winner is priceless!!!!

So, all you newbies, take heart - your quilts on here are superb!!!

I didn't know that site still existed! I remember seeing it back in 1995-1997 with the Worst Quilt contest....I remember laughing so hard I cried...thanks for bringing back a good memory!

np3 10-12-2010 06:05 PM

Cute website!

earthwalker 10-12-2010 06:08 PM

Haven't looked there for a while....at a glance some of them look not too bad...the names are fantastic...still can't get over "Putrid Polyester".

Thanks for the reminder and a good laugh.

fuail 10-12-2010 06:10 PM

Lol! I guess mine aren't so bad after all!

Granna of 5 10-12-2010 06:11 PM

These are great..

sewjoyce 10-12-2010 06:18 PM

Now I don't feel so bad about my first quilts

Candace 10-12-2010 06:19 PM

Loved it, thanks.

Twisted Quilter 10-12-2010 06:30 PM

Wow...my ugly quilt wouldn't stand a chance in this contest.

theoldgraymare 10-12-2010 07:09 PM

Golly, I feel like I probably could have my own quilt show, I'm so good next to these! Can't get over "Kitty in the Blender" (will never forget that title!) or the stuffed butt in "Quiltergeist" (the stuff of nightmares).

CarrieAnne 10-12-2010 07:09 PM

LOL!

littlehud 10-12-2010 07:23 PM

I'm feeling better about my quilts already.

Wow, makes me want to hide my quilts. Thanks SharonAnne, enjoyed it.

Psychomomquilter 10-14-2010 04:49 AM

wow! that sure makes me feel better about mine! :-D

mcar 10-14-2010 05:11 AM

They are marvelous. Hopefully the quilters found better material supply and joined a group or better yet found a teacher. My first out loud enjoyable laughter came with the Krazy Calendar. The migrating batting thru the flannel was just too painful! How brave of the quilters to share their grief. Glad I did not start quilting in the 70's.

finch 10-14-2010 05:24 AM

That one called a trip around the sheep pen was hilarious!

quiltymom 10-14-2010 06:25 AM

Now I don't feel so bad about my bad one!!!

Yes, I thought that one was the funniest thing ever until I got to Fibers from Within, and ultimately It's Already a Turkey.

I'm in my office laughing out loud, and am afraid security will be here soon to escort me out.

tntgranny 10-14-2010 08:28 AM

Boy did I need that website. Makes all my quilts look really great.

zennia 10-14-2010 09:58 AM

How about the turkey one stuffed with used bread wrappers. Where do they come up with these ideas?

galvestonangel 10-14-2010 06:31 PM

Thanks, they are really a scream!!

Ramona Byrd 10-14-2010 07:27 PM

I adored the Bulgarian Blunder..am still giggling at the calm comment that the Bulgarian student who inspired this was later deported!!

I feel better about my quilts already! Not that I'm going to try to get a blue ribbon on this judging site.

Caroltee 10-14-2010 08:12 PM

Isn’t it wonderful how others have a way of boosting your self -esteem?:) :0)

shrldunn. 10-14-2010 08:14 PM

I thought I had some bad nightmares. Mine look like blue ribbons compared to some of these. Still have a long way to go though.

Leota 10-14-2010 08:25 PM

I liked "Good Grief Charlie Brown" quilt entrants explanation...“My neighbor made a beautiful one. I simply had to prove I could too; only without templates, cutting tools, or accurate measuring!”

uh... isn't that why we have so many tools????

TN Donna 10-14-2010 10:07 PM

I laughed till I cried over this selection. I promise I will never use turkey or cow material in my quilts, ever!

Boy, I will NEVER say that my quilts are bad.

Letty 10-16-2010 10:01 AM

All I can say is AHHHH, some are not so bad and I think that the judges remarks border on the cruel,I think some of the quilts could be said to be 'ironic', the rest, well at least they tried!

deema 10-16-2010 10:34 AM

Oh my. Seriously, those make my first attempt look like a masterpiece. Certainly wouldn't win any quilt show awards, but it makes me feel a LOT better! LOL

UglyCook 10-16-2010 03:07 PM

This is wonderful! There is such a thing as an ugly quilt.

annette1952 10-16-2010 10:18 PM

I never thought I would be able to say this but I'm a professional quilter!! LOL ( only compared to the Worst Quilts Ever ) That was so funny!
