Dr Peggy G Rhodes -and Julia C Woods. Have just published this book. Being fellow Guild members I bought ths book and I am so glad I did. It contains an easy method of making hexies- i love it !! I highly recommend it! They didn't ask me to post this - I posted it because it is has agreat technique, has great technical info such as how many hexies do I need and what size and because suddenly hexies are fun!! Just wanted you to know I liked it! I also thought someone may be interested!!

Would love to know the technique, but really do not need another book! I see that they start with a circle.

This isn't new. I remember being shown how to do this using circles of fabric when I was in grade school. I'm glad the technique has been brought back to life. So many of the hand sewing methods have been lost. My best friend in HS grandmother taught us how to piece hexagons with no paper and stitch them together as we go. No whip stitch needed and no basting the hexes.

Now that technique would be worth sharing. Never heard of that way of doing hex

They state in the book that this is a very old technique. I liked that!! It really is easy!! I've been making hexies like crazy - cutting circles with the accuquilt. It's fun!

Try either You Tube or a general search for hexies or hexi quilts. You will find a lot of free information on line. I have many books and don't know why as I almost always find what I am looking for on line.

I too would like more information on this method. I've started using mylar templates but my left hand is giving me fits and I haven't been able to pick up a hexie for over a week.
