Quilting in Space
That IS cool! Wish I could go with her!
Great story! To bad she can't take her machine. No gravity would make FMQ a breeze with no need to haul the quilt around. Of course the machine would need to be fastened down.

First Quilter in Space!!!
Definitely cool!! What a blast to use old uniforms to make a quilt.
I am so glad that you posted this. I agree, very cool!! :-)
Neat to read about this ... and just as our Canuck Astronaut Chris Hadfield returned yesterday, having done a gazillion firsts in Space.
I hope we can keep track of her efforts and see the results when she returns or when the quilt returns at a later date.
Thanks for sharing! I have enough difficulty getting the everything to cooperate here on Earth...!! I hope they do a follow-up.
Looks like the two threads have been merged!
Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed reading that
I also saw this and printed it off to take to our weekly quilting evening. Isn't this just the coolest thing??!!!!

neat idea I hope they do a follow up too,the quilt of the elephants she made for her niece is so darn cute.... |
She could "not" clip any threads til she got back. I would be more concerned about the needles. But talk about a "PROJECT TO GO". How cool is that?
