Just received a newsletter from Quilt for Kids stating that their cupboards are bare from Hurricane Sandy and many sick kids and they are asking for quilt donations.

We have a local Q4K's group here where I live, so I make quilts for them and they are donated locally or where most needed. Perhaps looking local is another option for those not wanting to incur high postage.
