This is from Bonnie Hunters blog:
Dear Quilters: I have been contacted and asked to spread this info to you. It's important to get the word out to all the quilters you are in contact with, so ...could you please hit share to post this message to your own walls and news feeds?

This is from Ellen Medlock of the Ellen Medlock Studio Store in Tulsa, OK.

"I am honored to start a QUILT DRIVE for OKLAHOMA Tornado Families. If you wish to donate a quilt, please send to our shop- and we will make sure it is placed in the right hands!

Wanted to share with you some pics of the story. This first pic is a dear friend of mine for over 35+ years. Her name is DeeAnn , she's a teacher of 5th grade Math I believe, she has been a teacher for at least 30 years. She is a naturally silly & happy. I could go on & on about her and her family. I will stop here and add some pics. I couldn't find where to start a new post, so I added them here. Not trying to steal anyone's thunder ! (Thunder, get it? ) I have more pics, but I will wait.. I've lived here forever and tornadoes are common but usually not that bad. Thank you for the thoughts & prayers

I would like to do this. Any suggestions as to size of quilt and a quilt pattern that works up quickly? I'm fairly new to this but would like to do my part.

Not to take anything away from the above post, and from the Quilt shop in Tulsa, but I also received my regular email yesterday from The Stitching Depot, with basically the same info. I hope the owner of the shop does not object to my sending along this information, as it is also for quilts and pillow cases for the victims in Moore, Ok. For those who are near this shop, here is their address. "The Stitching Depot Quilt Shop, 316 E. 3rd St., Burkburnett, Tx. 76354"

I can not see why not, any type of quilt or aid will be appreciated when so many have lost totally everything. I think anything that any of us can do to help will be accepted and know that LOVE and PRAYER comes from all corners of our Great Nation. I think a hand quilted quilt will be so loved by the recepient, knowing you cared enough to send an heirloom-because in my opinion any hand quilt is definitely an heirloom, not that machine quilts are not, but hand quilts are just something else, definitely Not something that I ever plan to do.

Has anyone been in contact with Project Linus to know which location is better to send these to? I emailed, but haven't heard back. I wonder if the contact person has been effected by the storms and not available.

Hi all, I'm also collecting blocks, batting, quilts, for the folks in Moore Oklahoma. I do live in Moore, my home was spared. If you would like to send them to me, pm and ask for my address. Another lady and I are making children quilts and we will make sure they get them. Yesterday was the first day I got out to see what happen to our community and I was in shocked. Thank you all who are helping us in Oklahoma. And please don't forgot Shawnee it was it pretty hard to.
Take Care and God Bless!
Donna

What a great idea!! I did this for the Katrina victims. Made a Turning Twenty quilt -- very, very easy and quick. Thanks!
