Rickrack is back
This isn't the first time I've seen it, but the first I've decided to post it. Here's a binding tutorial, showing what amounts to a "flange" made of rick-rack. So-so cute, I think and inspiration to use other similar materials to "flange," lace or whatever. http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/...er-quilty.html.
Never thought I'd see it, but the 70's really is back :). |
YES!! They're BACKKKK!!! Said I would never go there again, but my kitchen is now orange, gold and green. Ten years ago I would have said "no way in H---", but now I love it!!!

I think it is cool.love the big rick rack.
I'm pretty sure I'd never go that far ;-).
I just put rickrack on my bathroom curtains. Sorry but I loved the 70's.
No need to say "sorry". We all have different tastes! I think colors might bring back memories of good times in our lives. I guess the 70's wasn't such a great time for me, lol.
I have never been one to follow any color trends in quilting either. I have colors I like, colors I don't and tend to stick with the ones that make me happy. Most of my quilts are scrappy. Still love the rickrack and it inspires for other things a person could do. |
I have the rick rack die for my Go. I have used it more then I thought I would. Lots of great ways to use fabric rickrack.
I think rickrack looks so cute used in quilts, but I don't like the way it curls up after you wash it...
I don't like how it curls up after washing either, but wonder if it gets a prewash before using so that it will be preshrunk and no longer curl??
I've been using a little jumbo rick rack as well as a little lace on a few blocks on all the little girl baby quilts I'm making, and I love it!
