Thank you for our first peek at those wonderful quilts. So many amazing quilters out there-I want to grow up and be just like them. :D

sniktasemaj 01-27-2013 04:57 AM

WOW!! Is all I can say. I can't even wrap my brain around how to do any of them. I really like the Space wonder quilt. I have been wanting to do an optical illusion quilt. I also like to yellow poppies. I guess I am jealous of their tallent as I will never come even close to that level of quilting.

nativetexan 01-27-2013 08:13 AM

yes, the yellow poppies are great. somewhere i have two huge flower patterns. like Georgia O'Keefe style. can't think of the designer's name at the moment.

Beautiful variety of quilts. Thanks for sharing! I now feel the urge to start sewing :)

Those quilts are amazing. Getting way too sophisticated for me. I'm still in the beginning stages. The one named "Surrender" broke my heart. I work as a scheduler in a children's hospital That quilt is absolutely beautiful.

These quilts have EXPLODED on my computer. Wonderful quilts! My favorite is the moose in Yellowstone park!!!!!

Then ,again, I really have about ten favorites.

That was a great look into the show. Thanks so much for sharing with those of us who couldn't be there.

I too got to go to ROAD!!! The pictures don't do the quilts justice! To get close, see all of the elements, the beads, the thread, the artistry................To only have the skill, and of course the time, to make a quilt like that!!!
Our guild got to unpack hundreds of the quilts, so we really got an up close and personal look at these masterpieces!!

caspharm 01-28-2013 02:48 PM

They were beautiful in person as well. Thanks for posting the link. This way I was better able to connect the quilt and the quilter.

What a fabulous show - totally humbling to be called "quilter" when the word includes the artists who created these masterpieces. Thanks for sharing the link - what an inspiration and joy to see!
