i don't save my selvedeges but have noted from reading topics that a lot of you out there do. seems like a lot of work to make these but would be interesting to see how they really look! maybe good xmas gift for some little girl?

gosh, people are so clever, aren't they? That's a darling scarf. I use my selvages outside, to tie various plants and flowers to stakes.

Suggestion..use old panty hose strips. They will expand with growth of the plants and won't strangle them even a little.
DH was a nurseryman and asked for my old panty hose for his plants. I accused him of taking me out to fancy dinners just so I would wear and tear my hose, since I rarely can wear any twice!!

I must have some around, but never use them and have no idea of what to do with them. It's hard to toss such things, but "things" are piling up on me and something has to go before anything else comes in. Fabric comes in, but anything else I can toss or donate. I LIKE fabric, just to feel and see the lovely colors is soothing to the soul. At least to me. Almost as soothing as petting a purring cat.

That is a cute little scarf!

Really cute but I just have trouble justify to myself cutting off 1 1/2 inch of selvege...

Seen tote bags and purses made from selvedge. Not for me too much like work.

Some one had also put up a link to use selvedges for making leaves for applique. I went to find the link and can't but I thought it was a cleaver idea.
