Sewing cabinet of my dreams, and yours?

Want sewing cabinet with extension to left of sewing area that would hold bulk of sewing project and extra room to right. I know. So fussy. Looked on-line and really didn't find anything. Went to local sewing machine dealer. Told her what I wanted and she walked me over to a cabinet and started opening, and opening and opening. OMG! Just what I am dreaming about! But will continue to dream. (SIGH). Found a sewing machine too. (Just another SIGH) Check video in the link.

Keep your eyes on Craigslist. I found a table w/lift for I think it was $40?? Dirt cheap. Does have an extension to the left and a small one to the right along with a well on the right side/top to hold a few notions. Four drawers on the right side as well. Certainly not nearly as nice as the one in your link but far more to my budget-liking. I don't even have enough room in my sewing room to open the right side extension, lol, so this one worked perfectly for me.

They do look nice but consider how you function when you sew. Those tables wouldn't work for me. The drawers and the thread holder are too small to function for my needs.

My dream space would be to install some 36 wide kitchen cabinets with easy close drawers. The inside height would be about 3 to 3 1/2 inches so threads, scissors, etc are easy to see. All like items are stored in one place.

My other concern with this style of table is about changing machines. Would a new machine fit in the same cut-out? Did I just save you some money?

We are anticipating move within 6 month. Three different options so everything is on hold. Thinking about going to cabinet maker when we move, give him the printout showing dimensions, show the video how it works, and wait for a quote. Or just order from the manufacturer. Oh so confusing. I better so easy stuff today. (Where's the eggnog?)

Would a new machine fit in the same cut-out?
Just order new cut out to fit the well. Just have to make sure well is oversized to begin with.

Im with RhonaK on this one, I would much prefer cabinets built to suit my needs. I purchased a Koala table and now it serves as the most expensive cutting table with storage ever imagined. For the same price I could have had a custom made solid wood table better suited to my needs and made of real wood and not pressboard. My machine now sits in a Arrow Gidget 2 table and its perfect. Sometimes with quilting we do encounter expensive lessons, some more than others.
The horn is still a beautiful table and by all means do go with what works best for your needs.

22 years ago I had my sewing room custom made for me, right down to a bathroom! Over time there are a few updates I would love to make but not in the budget. It still continues to be able to manage most of my sewing needs. But it is a bit crowded now. I had custom cabinets and a cutting table installed. I included a computer station so I could not only do this, type away messages, but use my sewing software. the bathroom was a must have. I have a whole lot of cabinets for fabric and gadgets. As I said over time it has become more crowded. I went from 2 machines to 14! My Accuquilt system takes up a great deal of space especially die storage. I have more books than ever and book cases have been split to in here and in a hall way. It never seems to be real organized in here but that is ok. It still works out to be the near perfect design. Custom is the way to go if you have the chance.

Oh yes those $5000.00 cabinets are so dreamy but as was already stated make sure it fits your needs. I would rather have an extendable table on the left for when working on the quilt as once the whole quilt is assembled the weight gets heavy. I too search for bargains. I was able to get my sewing table from Craig's list years ago for $80.00 instead of the $3500.00 for a brand new one. Yes, I too have a very overcrowded sewing room & its now to the point I absolutely have to do something after the new year starts. The Accuqult & all its accessaries finally sent my claustrophobia over the edge...lol And to think I started my little sewing hobby in a closet 20 some years ago lol

I was lucky to grab a Koala table about 4 or 5 years ago at an unbelievable low price...I think they were rolling out newer models.
I love my Koala table and the back side has a hinged section if I need to make it larger.

We got a quote from an office furniture place that was astronomical! I bought a Horn cabinet much like the one shown (love, love, love it), but don't have the extension on the right. It would be very nice to have, but I wouldn't have room for it anyway.

After purchasing mine, it seems like I did see a great one on Craigslist, so would check that out first. Lots of people need to downsize.
