I found this on the internet thought I would share, it shows how to use paint sticks, and things around the house that can be used for rubbings.

My sis loves to use these stick paints for quilting motifs. She paints blocks and puts them together into quilts or wallhangings.

I have never done it, but after seeing the video I would love to try it lol

In the video she talks about setting the design by heat. She neglegted to finish by telling what to do after you paint. Can someone who has done this please tell us the next steps to finished project.

Let me see if I can find it, I know the information I had read elsewhere said it needed to dry for 24 hours and then it was completely washable. But I'll go see if I can find it again.

"How-To" for Fabrics:
If using commercial fabrics or clothing prewash and press prior to application. When using your own hand-dyes it is best to use the paintsticks as a final layer. If you do overdye, the soda ash breaks down the paint and it washes off. It also helps to tape or pin down the fabric to give better control when applying the paintstick.
There is a thin skin that seals the surface of the paint that has to be removed by rubbing it off or peeling with a knife. Apply paint in the desired method (rubbing plates, stencil brushes, rubbing, or direct drawing). Allow to dry thoroughly, generally 3-5 days on fabric. Iron on the appropriate temperature setting for the fabric for 10-15 seconds per area until all of the design has been heat set. Use a press cloth or paper to protect iron and ironing board. Wash gently in cool to warm water to remove any residue.
Do not dry clean.
