So sad ... AAQI ending at end of 2013
|
Ami Simms is such an amazing woman and quilter. And she certainly has made a huge impact for Alzheimer's research. I totally respect her reasons for stepping down, but I am a bit surprised that the reins aren't being handed down to someone else though to carry on, but then again, what do I know about the intricacies of running an organization like this.
Anyway, I wish Ami all the best and hope that one million dollar milestone is reached by the end of the year! :) |
I agree. Learned about this today and have to check on all those priority quilts I've been considering buying. I have already purchased 11 and was ready to make some myself. Perhaps some of those volunteers who work so hard for AAQI will consider continuing Ami's efforts.

Yes I was disheartened as well. At the same time I was amazed at all the hours the volunteers have put in; scanning quilts and updating the website as new quilts came in.

I am very sorry to hear this. Sorry so much work and dedication will be lost. My mother had AAQQI. I have been off of the computer for 2 months. Mine crashed. So DH has me up again .Really missed this QB.
