from the pattern: "Buttons of different colors were sewn to help me keep my needles organized since I do different kinds of needlework. That way, I keep all the needles for one purpose at the same location using the color coded buttons:"
---------------------
Such a wonderful idea to do this!!! I love the entire teacup idea. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the link, Crafty Bear! I collect old tea cups, so now I know when I see a cup that I like that has a flaw in it (like a crack), I don't have to bypass it! Great idea!!

Psychomomquilter 04-04-2011 05:13 AM

I found a bunch oif old tea cupos at the thrift store, and I got a '"tea set" to use for pincushions. so cute, still, thanks for the link.

CarrieAnne 04-04-2011 05:20 AM

Terrific Idea .... I'm also thinking old creams and sugars!

The possibilities are endless!

Thanks for the link. Now I know what to do with all the old mugs/teacups I don't use and just can't get rid of!

I need to look around the house to see what else I can convert to sewing notions.

I made one for my mom from a small limoges china basket that I bought at Goodwill. I'll have to remember to take a picture of it, it's so pretty.

What a great idea. I have a lot of teacups that just sit in a box in the garage.

craftybear 04-05-2011 01:32 PM

yes, get your tea cups and start making cute pincushions, also would be great for quilt guild favors at meetings

CarrieAnne 04-05-2011 02:24 PM

great Christmas gift for quilters too!

Zappycat 04-06-2011 05:44 AM

Ok... off to the thrift shop! It's half price week!!

Zappycat 04-06-2011 09:44 AM

Darn! found a really cute cup and saucer at the thrift shop and when I got home, it was chipped. The woman didn't wrap it very well. Oh well... it was only $1 and I found some other neat things too. Next time! : (

craftybear 04-06-2011 03:35 PM

you will have fun, go ahead and use it and maybe cover up the chip spot with a small pincushion like the strawberry shape one to cover up the chip
