Thousands of Bolts. com

ooh Mercy!!! I have spent more than I planned the last couple of days between this site and the jhittle site (think I spelled that wrong) and eBay!! I cant' WAIT for all my little pressies to arrive in the mail!! once they do I will take photos and share them all with you!!!

That thousands of bolts .com site is unbelievable!!!! I can see me spending a pretty penny there in the future. I have about 10 yards of fabric coming from there, and other 7 from eBay and a ton of other goodies from the Jhittle site!!!

ooh you people are not a good influence on my bank account!! I love the fact I can use paypal for all my orders too!! I hate giving out my credit card online, and do it only if absolutely necessary!

Cathe 03-21-2008 09:22 AM

I have recently placed three orders from there for my dressmaking clients, and every delivery was really FAST! Their fabric is VERY inexpensive and their shipping prices are accurate (not marked up!). Thanks so much to whoever it was who posted that link here.

Quilting Aggi 03-21-2008 09:25 AM

yes THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the person who posted that website!! I will be going back there again and again I can see that for sure!

Steve 03-21-2008 09:36 AM

Not fair, yet another place to loose my hard earned money!

Mamagus 03-21-2008 11:21 AM

I missed that site! Could you post it here again! Please!

I got dinged really really really hard with Canadian Customs Duty about a month ago so let us know if you escape that with your orders!

I was wondering the same thing. I went there yesterday and I have like, 5 or 6 yards picked out, they're in my "shopping cart" but I was waiting on some feedback about shipping.

ProArtQuiltersUnite 03-23-2008 07:57 PM

 Ooooo LaLa!!! Love those sites!!!

patricej 03-26-2008 12:46 AM

the internation shipping seemed reasonable. they won't have any control over customs though. you should picket your government's offices to demand duty-free for quiters.

Mamagus 03-26-2008 02:31 AM

What bugs me about the whole customs thing is this... IF I didn't live on this island and could drive across the border and shop everyday I wouldn't get dinged. But I Do live on an island so my only option is to shop on line... and they charge me duty.

More discrimination against Newfoundland I say!

tlrnhi 03-26-2008 03:15 AM

Maybe a bunch of us need to take a "road trip" with cars full of fabric and visit you. :)

Mamagus 03-26-2008 03:41 AM

I like that idea! And I know of a few other islanders who'd like it too!

blahel 03-26-2008 04:27 AM

i live on an island so can you all come and visit me too! hehehe

Ok, all of us that live on islands, we have to clear room so those that live on mainland states/countries, they can buy TONS of fabric and come visit us.
Who is game???

Do you know of any islanders here in the city that would like to take a quilting course next week??? I have a Trip Around the World class starting Monday night. I need a minimum of 4 people to have a class.. I have 3 so far.... I reeeeeeeeally want to teach next week. It is a four week course and they can register at the H.G.R. Mews Centre on Mundy Pond Road!!!

sounds like a plan to me!! Maybe Marine Atlantic might give all the mainlanders a good deal as they are all coming to the islands here to deliver tons and tons of fabric!!

I also agree with you earlier suggestion.. ROAD TRIP!!!!!!

tlrnhi 03-26-2008 01:17 PM

Once I get back to the mainland US, I'm GOING on a roadtrip. This island living is killing me! First it was the island of Oahu, now Guam. From one island to another, and a smaller one to boot! UGH!!
So, 21 months to go and I BETTER get to a bigger area or hubby is going to be one sad man! lol

Mamagus 03-26-2008 03:52 PM

Geee... all my friends and family who live in the city expect me to make their quilts for them... Wish I was going to be in there!

Jeannie 03-27-2008 07:34 AM

WOW! This goes on my Favorites list. Thanks, Jeannie

Quilting Aggi 03-27-2008 08:41 AM

Quilting Aggi 03-28-2008 10:53 AM

my order is sent, so hopefully tomorrow I will receive my little pressie in the mail!!!

QUILTNUT 04-01-2008 03:39 PM

Hey, Quilting Aggi..

Just read about the thousandsofbolts web site....now I am in serious trouble too. That is a most excellent website. I don't know whether to hunt you down and break your knees, or just get down on my knees and thank you.

Just joking about the broken knees part. But not about the second part....THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I had a perfectly wonderful orgy on that website!

beachlady 04-01-2008 04:30 PM

Got my fabric today and I am very pleased. It was all Debbie Mumm and I didn't realize that. Color was different than I thought on two of the pieces, but it will work fine for what I am planning on doing with it. Packaged very neatly in a box - had mine delivered by UPS. Will order more from there again!

LMAO!!!!! you just cracked me up!!! Umm your welcome I think... providing Guido is not at my door to break my knees!!!

Yes that site is quite the ultimate experience isn't it! I am anxious this week to get my package too! So what kind of damage did you do!!?? How many bolts.. err. yards did you buy!!!??? I think I ordered 15 yards or something like that!

I am on pins and needles this week as I'm hoping my package arrives. Still nothing :(

QUILTNUT 04-02-2008 11:59 AM

I just got out the copy of my invoice...I bought 40 yards. Mea Culpa. There's no point in making excuses...I will come right out and admit it; when it comes to fabric, I am addicted. Spineless as a fishing worm.
thank God there's no calories in fabric. Do you dream about the stuff? At least it's a legal addiction.........Mary

Customs didn't get you?
Iwant to put in an order at

http://www.connectingthreads.com/Fabric/Quilting+Fabric.html

but I waited to see how you did with your duty!

Lori

Quilting Aggi 04-10-2008 05:05 AM

nope.. didn't get dinged by customs... and don't know what happens with regards to GST.... Now perhaps the next time I order I might. I guess its the luck of the draw. I ordered 10 yards of fabric. It cost be in total $58.00 approximately. I fabric cost me $37. and shipping $21. WOW!!!!! if I purchased that here it would have cost me well well well over $100 before shipping!!!

I am DEFINETELY putting in another order next week!! Come on Wednesday (hee hee payday)!!! I think I will start putting my order together over the weekend and add to my cart. .. then come Wednesday hit the pay button!! LOL I looooooooooooooved the quality of their fabrics...

The other great thing about ordering from her is that when you get your pieces, she adds a little sticky note to each piece stating the name of the fabric, the colour, and the reference number. All great information should you decide you want to order the same thing again and can't remember what the name or reference number is!! Very very smart business move on this woman's business!! I will definetely become a regular customer to this site :)

Lori, send us a photo of your stash when you receive it!!!!

I still need to check out that connecting threads site a bit more.. I have a couple of threads in my cart so far, but I'm admiring those fabrics too! I have an idea for a class I want to teach for my Fall season and will to start in another month or two on those projects. I saw some fabrics on that site that would look great together especially since they are stacked together in their families.

Cheers!

Laura in Montreal 05-03-2017 09:18 AM

I've ordered fabric from Thousands of Bolts a number of times. But Lori is right; the customs charges are significant. In the end, the prices are more or less the same as in our local shops like Fabricville (much more expensive than in the States), but the selection online is much, much better.

The one thing I didn't like about Thousands of Bolts is the customer service. My package was misdirected and they sort of said "oh, I don't know how that happened" and "oh, well."

I'm not a happy camper.
