Thousands of Bolts

WOW playing with the quilters tool box on http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/index.cfm What a fun toy. Love this site.

Me too, I use it often and buy lots of fabric.

rebeljane 04-16-2013 04:30 AM

Looks interesting, thank you for the link

toolazy 04-16-2013 04:34 AM

Oooh, that does look cool! I've never tried it. I can spend hours on that site looking through the fabrics, though. I've bought quite a bit from them and always been happy.

Thanks for sharing that. I usually breeze in and out of the website and never even notice the toolbox! Going to pass that along to other TOB fans.

angelanicole 04-17-2013 05:49 AM

llong0233 04-17-2013 08:51 AM

Way cool. Thanks for sharing this. It's very similar to the basic version of Quilt Design Wizard software but so much better. I, too, will have fun playing with this.

sharin'Sharon 04-17-2013 09:01 AM

Didn't ever check that box to find out what it does, but now I will be spending more time playing around with their fabrics. I love their sight and have ordered from them, but will have to pay attention to the amount I should spend there!!! Thanks for sharing. This QB group is the best sharing group ever.

yellowwroses 04-17-2013 09:07 AM

this looks like way to much fun

KLO 04-17-2013 09:54 AM

Boy, do I need this since I don't have any of the EQs! Thanks for posting the information. Now I just have to learn how to use it by watching the videos.

garysgal 04-17-2013 03:56 PM

Thanks - looks like lots of fabrics to choose from but I was going to buy three yards of fabric when I saw the shipping cost was $5.95 - six dollars seems like a lot to me for just three yards. Is that about normal for shipping costs? Or am I just stingy.

I really liked the fabric for a kid/picnic quilt that I've been collecting fabrics for, so after mulling it over a while I might just bite the bullet and buy it. But was wondering what you all think about shipping costs.

You have to put fabric on your wish list. Then go to your wish list and you can access the tool box. Under "about our site" there is a link to the tutorials. The tutorials show you how to use the tool box.

Thanks.

Oh, my gosh, yorkie luv. I see what you mean. I have probably spent three hours on this site, picking out favorite materials and then making different blocks. This is fantastic!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I may never find time to actually sew blocks- I can just create on line. ;)

Normabeth 04-18-2013 05:03 AM

:)WOW I never knew this existed - I just watched both parts, can't wait to use this, what a wonderful tool!!!!

LOL It would be nice if you could upload your own block, but even if you don't make one of the blocks that they have, you can still get an idea of how the fabrics will look together. I find it difficult to picture a block made from the fabrics that I have chosen. I need visuals.

I have been on this site for Shop Hop and everything seems to black, meaning if I click on red fabric, it shows up as black background with red. Am I missing something?

mjhaess 04-18-2013 10:21 AM

I may give it a try..Never bought from them....

Fantastic site, have used it for years as fabric here in the UK is so EXPENSIVE and poor choices. Thousand of bolts is one of the best IMO :)

richardswife 04-18-2013 03:37 PM

I have bought lots of fabric from them but never noticed the tool box. Saw your post and went there right away and played for a while. Thanks for sharing this.

MacThayer 04-19-2013 12:48 PM

I love websites with fabric to look at and buy, but a website with a play tool? I guess you know where I'll be the rest of the day. Thanks ever so much for the tip!

Have used them for about 7 years, I am in the UK and their prices and service are the best IMO

They stuff as much fabric as possible into a pre-stamped envelope (can't think of the right term) - AND they tell you if you can put more fabric in than you've already selected!
