Thank you for the information. It is something I never really thought about and just assumed all 50 wt. were about the same. I cannot believe the difference between Aurofil and Masterpiece. I will definitely be using Aurifil for piecing from now on.

Is there a trick to printing these?

stichinluvr 05-02-2018 06:10 AM

Thank you.

Thanks for putting this on here. I checked out some of her other blogs and they were also quite interesting.

I looked all over the article and couldn't find any way to print it. The only way I could find to print it was to copy the article and print it in Word. Another way would to be to contact the author of the blog and ask her for a copy. Maybe there is a special trick to printing it that she could tell you. If you do contact her, please pass on the info to us. Thanks.

I highlighted and right clicked 'copy image' and put it in Microsoft Word' then printed it out.

if you click on that link and scroll down there is a place that says you can download and then you can print

That's a question I wanted to ask as well, how to print it?

As stated above, scroll down to the bottom, download then print from there. I had to put in "shrink to fit" so it got all the info.

if i'm reading the charts correctly, YLI Soft Touch is the thinnest of the cotton threads listed.
seems to be generally less expensive than aurifil. (not "dissing" aurifil. i love the stuff.)

the lowest price i have found so far for 1,000 yard spools of the YLI is here:
https://www.craftmore.com/sewing-qui...sort=alphadesc

for 6,000 yard spool/cone, this is the lowest i've found so far:
http://www.uncommonthread.com/catego...how=100&page=1

i swore i wasn't going to buy any more thread until i'd used up the huge collection i have already.
i shoulda knowed better 'en that! lol
