Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your tutorial finally opened my eyes and I got the DUH moment. I have been quilting for several years and have always had problems with my blocks and points not lining up right. Well, when looking at your tutorial, it dawned on me....... STARCH YOUR FABRIC before cutting. Talk about feeling stupid!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be so glad when I get done with my pinwheel quilt and start on something new to see how that works. I had almost gotten to the point of considering quitting sewing. I am now filled with renewed energy to try something new. (But first I have to finish my pinwheels.) My brain must have finally switched to ON. Thanks again Maiziedo

I am so-o-o-o pleased that you found the tutorial useful. It is great to know that after you after spending a good deal of time and effort trying to explain it, others are benefitting. However, starch alone may not be the magic solution for you if you don't take into account the other tips as well. But, it will certainly make a difference. So, good luck on your magical quilting journey and I hope many others will benefit from my advice too.

Thank you!

I know there are other tips and I have read many on the QB. I have just about done all of them except the starching, so I believe that this will really set me with straight squares and rectangles and points, and etc.
Thank you again, Maiziedo.

Thanks for posting the tutorial. I find it very helpful. So sweet of you to take the trouble to explain in detail the tips for accurate piecing. One question, please. Do you have to wash off the starch after you have finished sewing the top?

lesleyboost 01-29-2011 07:33 AM

No need to wash off starch. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial.
