Thanks Woody, nice to see a fellow Aussie. I have only just figured out how to add info to my profile, so am finding my way around slowly. I am really enjoying Quilting Board.

Is this an Aussie-only chat or can I join in? I would love to visit Australia some day! I've been in love with Koala bears for as long as I can remember. Thanks for the link ... it's certainly something I can use.

Thanks for your kind welcome ladies. Where I live we are in drought as usual, no rain, the trees and shrubs are dropping their and leaves. I've only just decided to quilt again after many years break. I love this site, thank goodness for the Internet. Thanks Nancy for moving this tip to here.

This is exactly how I do it. Learned it years ago and the points and seams are perfect every time.

Welcome and thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the post - it should be very useful to the lady who posted her inability with points last night.
I moved from the hot, dry area (54C) to what I thought was the cool, moist area and we have just come out of Level 5 water restrictions after 7 years, (we do have bore water). Hope you are faring better than that?

Anna from Oz 11-27-2011 06:11 AM

jitkaau,
I did see our member's post about her points being cut off. (that sounds a bit strange as I read it
I posted a link to here for her.
I'm in hot dry Central Queensland, we don't have water laid on, it's collected off the roof into rain water tanks when it rains......when it rains........Thus we live with water restrictions all the time. When it rains again I'm going to go outside and stand in it.

Thanks for the welcome Ifstamper - you came in after I had thanked the other ladies.

NanaCsews2 - this tip works that's for sure.

Welcome to our Aussie firiends,, We spent about 9 months there in 2002...in Melbourne(very little time there), Williams Town(loved it, across the bay from Melbourne and WONDERFUL!), Adelaide (Really loved it it there)...Wish we were back there! made sooo many good friends and had a great time seeing all the sights we could while we were there! Too many great things to mention here...not enough space or time! Texas has been suffering a horendous drought as well!

Hi there Anna. I'm down the bottom end of Aus. (Victoria) and we had also been in drought with water restrictions but this last year has made up for it. This weekend we had 110 mls of rain - I have 20ft. trees that are falling over because the ground is so waterlogged the roots cannot hold them upright. If only we could share the rainfall and even things out for both areas.

Thanks Anna - a great tip for a beginner like me. Hot and getting dry just now in Gympie Qld. Hoping for rain soon.
