Thanks for the great idea, had never considered something like that. Just the color splash 'pun intended' my bathroom needs.

caspharm 01-22-2013 03:37 PM

think i'll try it using toweling for both sides. we also have extras now that the kids are out of the house.

LOVE your idea -- and am thinking I'll be cutting those awful bands off the old towels and substituting some quilted fabric squares instead....would be a nice touch for our newly renovated bathroom. Thank you!!

BTW - I'm trying to find RUST colored towels for the same bathroom....have gone to Kohl's, Walmart, Costco, JCP, and rust evidently isn't an 'in' color anymore. Any of you out there seen rust colored towels for sale?

sewellie 01-23-2013 08:50 PM

Would the towels make it slide on laminate flooring? What makes it non-slide?

slk350 01-23-2013 09:08 PM

It's a great idea, BUT I love the bathroom

BellaBoo 01-24-2013 10:29 AM

I machined quilted two thick towels together. It makes a great bath mat. For color, I raw edge circles of printed fabric on one side for the quilting.

I don't get the pedestal sink thing for a bathroom. There is no room on the sink I need when using the sink. I love the neutral colors of her bathroom.

What a great idea!

I don't know if "ginger spice" would be close enough to rust. These are not cheap, but I love their towels. Especially when they are on sale.
Towel bathmat is a great idea! And I love that antique bathroom.
