I've looked at the little collapsible thread catcher but thought it was a little too big for my to-go bag. I found this little cutey and it's perfect. I used my 60 degree ruler to cut out the pattern.

What a cute little "catcher" thanks so much for sharing it!!
Ok Ellen I just went and looked at the tutorial of it...I don't understand what makes the bottom part of it? Can you explain that to me? There wasn't any mention of it in the directions...

SO neat , How meny triangles do you need to cut for each? I am seeing 3 tri or 6 pieces of fabric is this correct? Thanks for info.

Hope I can explain.. you only need one triangle. After you sew, turn and press you match up two points, fold one point down halfway, mark and stitch. You do this for each of the three points.

It makes a little bottom after you match up the three points and sew down halfway. I think once you cut out the triangle and try it you will understand better. Maybe practice on a piece of paper

Thanks for posting this! I just made one in less than 15 minutes (still have to add the buttons though!) This is so cute quick and easy. Perfect little gifts for some of my sewing friends for Christmas!
