USA grown and made fabrics
 

I found an article the other day about an American company that is making fabrics "from farm to fabric" completely in the United States. ABOUT TIME is all I can say. I checked my state and found about five fabric stores that carry the brand, which is called "American Made Brand" Most are quite a drive so I am hoping that it won't take long to be able to find it in more stores.

Thank you for sharing this!! There are 3 local quilt shops close to me - I'll be sure they know about this (they do not come up on the search).

I'm pretty vocal about buying American made, and supporting small retailers so this really thrills me. We needed a new TV a while back and I told my husband we were buying an Elements brand - only TV assembled in the US. At that time they were using some imported parts; they now have added another plant in Tn, I think :-)

Whatever you're buying, every time you buy American made it is US jobs, retirements, homes, etc, etc, etc.

Sadly there are no shops near me that carry it so I'll have to order online. I really and truly do not need another shred of fabric, but this is something that is so important to support.

I was surprised to find a fabric mill in Westminster MD only 1/2 hr from me. Now they make wool suiting fabrics but at least its made here.

Hancocks of Paducah is selling right now and I got some flowered, they hade 10-15 different patters at Jo anns last month and it is really nice, washed great and I hope as I will be the 30 S to CA Dr. for DH to stop and get a different pattern peice today, grown and made in America. I ordered the card (on sale too) with samples and all the colors of solid, and think the sale there (on line) is until tonight. http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/ and ends today I guess. I also ordered a yard of material and it is only $6.++ and under 7 when not on sale. Can't wait to get it.

I agree....important to support. Joan's has brand Traditions, American made...

Washed the first piece and it still feels nice, firm but not rough or limp. And not thin.
