I'm already thinking ahead to the next holiday. The reds, pinks, and purple hearts of Valentine's Days are always so welcoming to me during the cold winter.

I would like to make little favors of some sort for the Kindergarten Class where I volunteer.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You could make little drawstring bags out of all different kinds of red fabrics and fill with little candies, pencils, etc.

A tiny screen play bag would hold up to pencil and eracer holder.... Here is a link to the pattern called zip it. I love making these bags and cases. (There is a discount fabric fstore near me that carries the screening in all colors for much less than the price shown there on the site.) It really stretches the fabric out too.

I know they are a pain... but I always loved the confetti shapes that they have out for the holidays! I know it isn't a favor, but they are fun to decorate with!

Have you seen the mouse made from a heart? Cut a heart shape from felt, fold in half. The large end is butt and the small point is the nose. Add wiggle eyes on either side, cut 2 small elongated half circles and add to each side for ears. A small pompom for the nose and finally place a lollipop inside with the stick out the back. Tie a bow on the stick. Forgot to say to use a small dots of glue to hold the halves together and hold the lollipop in.. I taught young children for years and this was a favorite. Another very easy one is a bouquet of flowers made from Tootie Pops. Use 6 different colored pops and wrap together with a rubber band. Poke a hole in a large paper doilly, slip over the sticks of the pops, bring up around the candy part and tie with a bow with streamers. Hope these make sense.

One of my daughters teaches fourth grade in Killeen, Tex.
She said that it was against the rules to give foods of no nutritional
content to kids. That is a strict No-No there.

Maybe pencils and such like another writer suggested. And stickers,
kids adore stickers!
