I wonder if it would be a good idea to heavily starch the fabric before cutting/sewing?

Any templates you recommend? I don't have a cutting machine.

Good video. The starting with the needle down before it goes into fabric and placing the fabric up against the needle is great. It prevents the pull of the feed dogs on the 1st stitch and I find that my square etc finishes even.
