My Walmart already has only one isle of fabric. This was done a couple of years ago. I really wish they would do something about the people that work in fabric. They are from other parts of the store. I have had to cut my own fabric and show the clerk how to measure and cut fabric. I have talked to management and it did no good. What fabric they do have is a mess. I only go to that section, if I really need something that I cannot find anyplace else.

I'm glad our Walmart hasn't started that yet. I ask the lady at the fabric table if they was gong to start downsizing and she not that she knows of they keep getting in more all the time. And I have noticed they are getting in alot of different fabrics I have not seen before. Keeping my fingers crossed

I am in a small town in Utah...we have Joann's, a LQS & walmart for fabric choices-Love the ladies in our walmart fabric dept-not only are they friendly but knowledgeable , yes you have to watch the quality of the fabric but I get some pretty good bargains. I work for the school district, its good money for what I do but its part time and no work in the summer, I can't afford 12.00-14.00 a yard. I know the ladies well in our walmart fabric dept I will have to ask if there is a plan to discontinue fabric...thanks for the heads up.

I visited 3 storesl in my area and bought almost 90 yards of fabric. Plan on visiting every week or so just to see if anything is new.

Our Walmart took out fabric and most crafts several years ago. It was our only option and folks called, wrote letters to the newspaper and the company. They are now making it into a superstore and adding fabric back. They have been swamped and the selection has been quite good. I talked with the manager recently and she said it is doing really well and other stores are adding back fabric because so many people complained.

Our department here in Cody is lacking. Help is almost non existent. last time i went a young man with zero cutting knowledge was my help took him 10 minutes to get there. The fabric is half shelved at any given time. There are about 50 fabrics in the quilting selection. Its hard to find something good with only so much to chose from. Sad. I order online some fabulous deals at 5.00 a yard or less at fabric.com .. my quilt store the only one for MILES is about 12.97 per yard now. a bit pricey for my wallet. I need pretty fabric for less. Any discounted stores please post them. They make the difference between quilting or no quilting for me.

We don't have a quilt shop close, so walmart is it. I carry my cell phone with me & if no one is there to cut material, I call the store & tell them someone needs help in the sewing department. Usually get help pretty quick : )

When they took the fabric out of the one near me, then brought it back, they didn't come back in with the same quality fabric. I still drop by there when I am in the store, but have yet to see anything I would buy. There is never a clerk, or customer for that matter anywhere to be seen. I have heard they are still doing a fair amount of fabric business in some of their stores, but not in mine. Maybe there are more crafters in some areas than others.
