This place specializes in 108" wide backing fabric. Some of their prices for plain backings is as low as $8/yd (which is pretty great considering the width).

Look again, they are priced by the half yard, not full yard. Pretty prints though!

yes, I noticed that, but there are some things in the plain backing section that are only $4 per half-yard.

I buy all my backing fabrics on ebay, got the last piece at $6.95/yd....same stuff at LQS for $13.00. I like to support them but not on this

I've purchased from BackSide fabrics before. Their fabric is very nice--the colors were true, nice weight, good service. Very generous with their cuts. I'll order from them again. Sign up for emails; they'll let you know about sales.
