Wind your binding into a figure 8 so No twisting!

Hello and Happy Quilting New Year!

I wanted to share with you a video that shows how to wind your binding into a figure 8 shape. You will see as the binding is attached to the quilt, there is no twisting. I tried it and it works. My binding was 285".

Ps. I wanted to attach my photos of how my binding looked but am not successful. :( I went to attach the files under manage attachment and no success.

It depends what device you are using to get the correct advice. It is best to visit the QB Help forum

Interesting and I will give it a try the next time I do binding. As for posting a picture, I am waiting for my tech support on how to post from my IPad. You are not alone.

Binding video

I wonder if you could do this with a "bow maker". the board with two pegs that you make bows with. When I get to my room today going to give it a try. Thanks for the idea

Thanks for the video it is something I will find very helpful. As far as photos from your phone you may have to resize them. I have been experiencing this problem myself. I found if I resized my photos to about 5.5 x3.2 I can get them to work, not as well as I would like but they are now viewable larger than the thumbnail. You are on the right track but if the pic is to large the upload fails and you go back to square one.

Thanks for posting this video. I make binding for a charity that I help but I generally send it in rolls (like the way jelly rolls are rolled up). The next time I send some binding I will include some like the video & see if they like them better than the rolls.

Photos of my binding wound into figure 8

Here are the photos of my binding wrapped in a figure 8. I really like this method that keeps the binding from getting tangled as you attach it to the quilt. I hope you try it out.

I'll check into that, when I was a lifeguard we were trained to coil our ropes in figure 8s.

I wrap mine around a piece of cardboard, I like to cut the cardboard around 10x18" long so I can easily count my yardage, but sometimes a smaller piece fits in the project box better.
