are you a quilting junky?

do you have quilts everywhere in your home, in your car, a quilted tote/purse, mug rugs, rugs, curtains, pillows, where does it all stop?

Perhaps you have yet to join the NEWEST quilt craze!

DO NOT faint when you see the prices though!

I am a junky .. but not the typical... I don't keep my quilted anything. Everything I make finds homes elsewhere.. Once I am done I am really done with it and on to the next.

cmw0829 03-27-2012 08:14 AM

Wow. I had an idea of what the price might be but - and I almost fainted - the one I looked at was 2x what I expected!!

No, I don't have quilts all over the place but my DH wants me to cover the walls of one room with quilts because i've been putting off the painting and the room needs it badly.

janRN 03-27-2012 08:15 AM

I'm a quilt junkie-sounds better than a hoarder LOL.

I've made so many laptop bags & Ereader covers that if I charged those prices I could retire right now! Wow-$50.00 for a lap top bag??

jaciqltznok 03-27-2012 08:19 AM

I could see the prices on the DJ ones, after all, the licensing to do those must have cost a fortune, but the others??
Am I missing something, are they all "famous" works of art?

wow...

my DH wants the wall behind our headboard covered because when the wind blows it is freezing on that wall in the winter time! It is just such a small room, I can not imagine a whole quilt hanging there....

Handcraftsbyjen 03-27-2012 08:31 AM

Wow! I like them, but not enough to pay those prices.

Steady Stiching 03-28-2012 03:34 AM

I must be afflicted because the first thing I did when I got my first cell was to make it a case LOL!
I made mine with a flap out of fleece. Nice thing about that is that the fleece made the flap stay closed with no need for closures. My suggestion to my husband to make one for him was not met with any enthusiasim at all...I wonder why LOL.

KyKaren1949 03-28-2012 04:20 AM

Holy Cow! I was thinking, "Oh, I have to have one of these!!!" until I saw the price. What a rip off, but sure are cute!!!

Beehiveof9 03-28-2012 05:28 AM

Most of my quilted things are given away too. Does that mean I escape being a junky? ;)

annasgirl 03-28-2012 07:00 AM

Oh, heck...I just made a case for my e-reader the other day and it cost about a buck......

MaryMo 03-28-2012 07:14 AM

I agree with janRN ... but maybe more of a fabric junkie working towards being a quilt junkie! :)

Oh Lori, how do you do it? I have such an attachment to every pc. I make that I just add it to the stack & can't part with it. I don't have much family anymore to give things to & I rarely give things to friends unless I know they'll enjoy & appreciate them.

My greatest pleasure is when I choose one special person to make something for as a surprise.

Pat625 03-29-2012 05:32 PM

Actually if you give it all away you are the worst kind of quilting junkie.....You give it away to make room for MORE!!! LOL

LOL! :D...wouldn't he be surprised if you really did :D

Oh Pat, I had to laugh at this comment. You should see the pile of things all across my long closet shelf. My biggest prob. is I don't really have anybody to even "gift" it to. Sure I could take it out in the street & people would take it but it all means so much to me that I'm fussy about who I give it to.

Thanks, Jacqui for posting the link to the QuiltMyPhone site! And thanks to everyone who visited the site. Please let me explain how it works: For products that feature quilts from the Bennington Museum and the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, I pay a royalty to the museum for each sale and I get paid a referral fee from the manufacturer. The museum actually earns more from a sale than I do, but that's OK. My purpose for creating the company is to support quilt and textile museums.

If you like the cases but feel they are too expensive, you should sign up for my mailing list to be notified of discounts. For example, today the manufacturer offered a four-hour 50% off sale on phone cases!

Thanks so much for visiting the site and please support quilt museums whenever you can.

Best regards,
Cathleen Savage
