Beautiful and Inspiring quilts.
I went to my first Quilter's Day Out today.
I met the mother of a local woman who started a non-profit organization that serves the marginalized and impoverished women of India. They started a program called Anchal (this is the Indian word that describes the lovely border print on a sari worn by the culture.)
The booth had about 25 of the quilts made by the Indian women. They are 6 layers of sari cotton and hand quilted in a very simple pattern. The softest, most delightful things I have ever felt! So bright and lovely, and each one is unique as once a sari is used up, there isn't another just like it.
Anyway, I was really inspired by the project and the beautiful quilts and wanted to share with those of you who might also appreciate them. There is an online store, but, the photos don't really do them justice.

Enjoy!
