Default Rowenta Iron - Amazon Gold Box Deal

In my email this morning was one of Amazon's Gold Box deals for a Rowenta D5197 Steam Iron for $69.99. No auto shut off.

Here is the link

Here is the link to the top 10 Best Steam Irons for 2015. It's number 2, but it is the top rated.

Good luck, all. I ordered mine. Will be here Monday.

I love my Rowenta with Auto shut off. Do you realize that an iron pulls a ton of electricity when turned on??

Only when you leave it on for days. Been there, done that. With heated appliances, the most energy is required on start up. Then they cycle on and off to maintain that temperature. I have a small iron that has an 8 second warm up. Truthfully, when I'm piecing, I don't want to wait to iron my pieces. Patience is not one of my virtues.

Recently took an appliqué/art class, and everyone loved my little estate find, $5 Toastmaster, no steam, antique iron that was there, hot, always ready. Not having auto shut off is necessary at times. I have three Rowena Irons that do have auto shut-off which is fine for regular ironing.

That was a 24 hour gold box deal. So it is gone now. Sorry.

I was told if you cam efind one that is made in Germany they are good. Not sure where mone were made as they are in the garbage.
