I crocheted a lot of these spoolies. They take the place of the red felt rings on the vintage machines. I keep some in my class tote and give them to the ones in class who bring a vintage machine.

Cute if you have an embroidery machine. I crochet mine.

I cut mt spoolies from tiny batting scraps and use a hole punch to get the center hole (also can use scissors). But those are cute if you have an embroidery machine.

I would like to see one on a standard size sewing machine instead of the FW. It's hard to picture the size of the spoolie. I love the crochet ones, but I am hopeless when it comes to crocheting. Thank you for the link!

The ones I make fit a FW or a regular size machine. It is about 2 inches round Not really a standard size but you want it big enough to show and look pretty under the spool. It's to keep static from them metal spool pin and the metal body of the machine. You can use one on any machine that has a vertical spool pin.

Thanks for posting this link. I bought the design right away. I didn't know about her site so I am happy to add her to my list of sources for embroidery designs. I hope to get 9 of them made before my sewing club meeting next week so I can share with friends.

Absolutely adorable. Would make great gifts if you have an embroidery machine. Or, just to buy the actual spoolies and gift. It's a very unique gift.
