those collapsible/pop up thread catchers
way too cute. I've been asked to teach them for to a class of 25
They will be paying a materials fee.
So I want something more elegant than cut up pringles cans
does anyone have a nice alternative, even tho it won't show?
little bigger or smaller no prob.
I even thought of cut up plastic mayo jars but haven't a clue how to cute them even and smooth...
here is a tutorial of the project.

So any sturdy cardboard tube you can cut would work. I also think I would stick with the Pringle’s tube since you have all the measurements. If you wanted to work out a different size, an oatmeal container would probably work as well.

Thanks for that link. I just bookmarked it. Started a new hand quilting project a couple of days ago and was thinking I really should have a thread catcher nearby instead of just tossing them all onto the table top.
