You're very welcome, sew.annie! I will be watching the HSN shows for sure... even though I am on the fence about this machine, I would like to see them put it through its paces!

Thanks for the heads up! I will have to tune in and see what the machine is like, but will probably stick with my real FW due to $$.

But don't forget. The new Singers are not made by Singer, and read all the comments by those who have bought new Singers recently. My repairman says to stay away from any new Singers since they were bought out by another company, that new ones are mostly junk.

ok, will try this again, so sick of having to key posts several times before they post.....where do they dissapear to????

I will buy a new machine when they bring back the ability to sew off of two spools of thread...when the lower thread is from a spool also.....would be great for a long arm and for a DSM......IMHO

Yes, wouldn't that be a GREAT idea? Like a new, modern Eldredge Two Spool sewing machine. I wonder why it has not been done?

The new "retro" Singer is really just a Singer Curvy 8763 in a new dress. The Curvy is a basic machine...however I wouldn't pay over $200 for one. I much prefer my vintage Singers and other brands.

Yes, Sharon. It is a very expensive black dress! I had not heard of the Curvy 8763 but I did an Internet search for it. It is a very basic sewing machine and does not have the features that a Quilter would want on an new machine. It would be interesting to see the HSN promo on it though.

No matter how you package it, it'll be in pieces soon
