Default Thread sale

Connecting threads has Essential cotton 50 wt on sale for $2.44 / 1200 yard spool. I’m looking for thread to FMQ on my midarm. This price sounds too good to be true. I’ve never purchased from them. Has anyone used it for free motion quilting? Opinions please.

I prefer CT's Essential Cotton over Aurifil for piecing. I use Glide on my longarm, but with Harriet recommending it, I may try it, although I do have a lot of Glide that will need to be used up.

I also like their threads, but my Janome is not thread picky.

I like CT thread. I was slow coming to that conclusion because I thought the price was too good to be true. But now, I buy it and save money for other things.

The 50wt cotton is linty so be sure and watch for build up. I like the Essential Pro. It's 70 wt. poly and made for long arm quilting.

CT thread is more linty than Aurifil. I prefer to watch for sales on Autifil and use a higher quality thread for free motion. I use it for piecing as well. I use high quality fabric, so high quality thread is worth it to me. You can find great prices for Aurifil at JHittle and sometimes Craftsy.

my Bailey loved their cotton, my HQ hated it. Unfortunately I'd bought 2 of almost every color for the Bailey, but found someone else with that machine and gave half to them. I'm saving the other half for when I need a specific color for binding and stuff like that. Though I have found the more I use thread like Aurifl or the new stuff Craftsy sells, or isacord, I like the Connecting threads cotton less and less.

I pretty much stick with poly thread for the HQ longarm.

It's okay for craft sewing but it's too thick to use for piecing for me. I think it's way too linty too.

I have all the colors of their Essential Pro thread and use it on the LA when I need the color. I have a few of the cotton but bought them before EP came out. I never use it(for anything) but not for any particular reason except it's not poly and on a cone and that's mainly what I use; especially on the LA. I do remember when I first discovered CT's thread I especially liked the color called kiwi and used it on the LA without a problem. Back when I first stated using the EP I was disappointed in their lack of colors(and still am even though they have about 30). I use a variety of threads, and I mean a variety, and almost all of it is poly except for King Tut and a few others, and as I move forward in my quilting journey I find myself using less and less by CT. And their price is definitely right but I haven't bought any in more than 2 years. I can see myself in the near future using EP for piecing just to use it up.
