This is a link to the Wiener Sack Pillowcases that were discussed in the chat room tonight (Aug. 25/09). Some couldn't open it so I will post the directions here:

The “Wiener Sack” Pillowcase

You will need:
¾ yard fabric for the body 27”x 42”
¼ yard fabric for the header 9”x 42”
A strip of contrasting fabric 1 ½ inches wide or 2 inches wide folded lengthwise and pressed

Instruction:
Place header fabric on the table, right side up
Place the body of the fabric on the top of the header, right side up, lining up on selvage edge
Set the sewing machine to long stitches so that it does not pucker during the sewing process
Place folded strip (piping) on top of the header, lining up to the same selvage as above

Fold and roll body of the fabric up so that you can fold the bottom edge of the header up to the top edge of the fabric, making sure both ends of the header fabric are even at the selvage (or it will twist during the sewing process)
Pin in place if necessary
Sew ¼” to ½” seam along this edge
Reach inside and turn the pillowcase inside out
Press

Fold in half and with selvages together, aligning straight selvage edge with shortest edge of the ohers side. If out are going to stitch on a regular swing machine, trim the selvages off. If you use a serger, you can just sew.
Pin, starting at the header/body seam
Starting at the fold, sew bottom and then turn and sew turn inside out and VOILA!! You have a pillowcase.

Piping can be any color or width you wish, be sure to have the piping on the right side of the body of the fabric.

Thanks for the link. Some may have had difficulty opening it if they don't use Open Office, the alternative to MS Office (but I'm not for positive on that). I saw another link that had pics with it for this pillow case method. If I can find it, I'll post it here. I can imagine there are other 'visual' learners out there like myself. :)

Ok, I was going to ask if the Weiner Sack was the same as the burrito one.

Here is a YouTube video of one being made step by step. It's about half way through the video. So much better then reading how to do it for me. I did a guild hands on demo class on this making doll pillowcases using up scraps. It was easier to do the small size so everyone could learn the technique.
