Default What is happening to Craftsy?

We have seen changes in the past two years concerning their operation.
When I see a company drastically reducing inventory, there is usually major change or sell off looming.

They have numerous sales going on during the holiday season, like many retailers, but the inventory is going down daily, without a replenishment of stock. Even the thread is sold out in half their colors.

I have checked the net for information and can find nothing.

I have never seen a retailer who hasn't announced that they are "closing", reduce inventory like this. Normally, there is a message put out that they are reducing stock to then change their future offerings, if a company is planning on staying in business. Perhaps I worry for nothing, perhaps they are going to focus only on videos.

I hope I am wrong and they are staying in business and offering their retail items.

I think they are going to more of their private label items and selling off old inventory that came with the purchase of Craftsy. Perhaps that are trying to transition everything to Blueprint and Blupirnt branded merchandise. I don’t think it’s a indication of doom, as much as it is out with the old and in with the new.

They are the future of one place for everything for quilting. Missouri Star is right behind them now offering online video classes to purchase. Quilt In A Day has a different twist and has the one place for all. Jordan Fabrics is catching up and Fat Quarter Shop is coming along big time too. These companies have an excellent top notch marketing skills and strategy. They know how to entice customers and how to keep them. I think the online quilt shops will be the next to suffer if they can't keep up.

I think they made an error when they tried to get folks to do an ongoing subscription fee for classes and lost a lot of their customers. If we no longer go there to look at classes, we are no longer there to look at any other products. I believe they are now doing whatever they can to regain their customer base.

I thought something was amiss over there. Now none of my 53 classes is playing. I've sent a help request....what an aggravation!

Guess this is why I do NOT 'buy' these type things; they can go south - along with your hard earned money. I feel there are enough free ones on youtube.

For those of you having issues with viewing on Craftsy, be sure you are using Chrome for access to their site.

I agree with what Onebyone said.
