Default Embroidery machine to pick

Hi there I am new with embroidery. I want to purchase my first machine. I don't need a combo because I have just purchased the singer heavy duty sewing machine. I have narrowed down to this:
Janome 500e, brother nq1600e and Babylock Flourish ii.
In terms of pricing it is in this order: brother nq1600e, Babylock Flourish ii and Janome 500e. Lots of people are saying to go for the Janome 400/500/550e. Is there a reason why people say to choose janome over brother?

I would choose brother or babylock. Easier to use and very reliable. Just my personal opinion. I have had baby lock and brother for many years. Had one Janome and it was a piece of junk. Other people like them but not me.

I would go for the JANOME. i have the 15000 along with 6 other Janome sewing quilting machines.. LOVE THEM ALL.
Never had any of them in the shop.
I clean and maintain them myself. They would only go to the shop for a technicsl isusue.
Compare all of the features side by side. Determine the largest hoop you want. Happy hunting.

My personal choice is the Brothers 1600e. I think you will be pleased with it. Brothers makes a good quality machine and the pricing is right!

Hi Both brands are going to do what is needed for embroidery, it's a personal choice. What I would be looking for is the nearest dealer with backup and lessons so you can achieve the most out of the machine. Sometimes a discount machine will cost you money and dispair for lack of fair service and knowledge..An energetic local dealer is worth hundereds of dollars in learning skills ..I have Janome machines and have NEVER had problems with them....Zoo

When listening to YouTube tutorials about "which" machine, the commentator recommended getting one with the largest hoop. That makes sense because we can only stitch what fits in the hoop. The Janome 550e right now has the largest hoop. and comes with a total of 4 hoops. That is kind of awesome! I own several sewing machines and every one is a Janome and I have had the best experience with them all. I went to a sewing center to try out different machines and when the technician suggested Janome, I went with it. They are a tried and true company with a solid warranty and I like that. That being said, go out there and see "what floats your boat" and go with that!
