Brother Luminaire or Baby Lock Solaris, any other owners here?

Just curious if anyone else has a Luminaire or Solaris. I have the Luminaire and just love it. So much throat space, big hoops, great lighting. Love this machine!

I have the Luminaire, so far loving it but have so much to learn as only had it a couple of months

I have the Solaris - I traded in my Destiny and really like the Solaris better. My husband hates Disney so he wouldn't let me have the Brother model in the house.

I have the Luminaire and love all the features. I learn one or two features at a time. The borders upgrade is great as it space the design according to the length/width.

There is a recent update for the machine. If you use the wireless feature, you can set to auto update them.

Rhonda, I took a class on the upgrade and learned about the borders feature. WOW is all I have to say on that! I do need to set up the wireless feature for updates, that would be great.

Macy, I wanted the Solaris at first because it has Nancy Ziemann designs in it. I don't have kids, so I really don't need Disney, but they all talked me into the Luminaire. I love the machine!

Bugger, I've had mine a year or so and I'm still floored at all it can do.

Quilter7,

The borders are fun! There are two ways to program them. I was going to play with a plain table cloth first.
Have you played with the stippling feature? I stitched out samples using cut-a way, batting, and muslin (or no show mesh). Mark the setting on the samples. You will find the sweet spot that you like. Works great for quilting blocks ITH.

Give a shout if you have questions.

My Solaris has been boxed up for two weeks. I'm so looking forward to when I can get it unpacked and start sewing again.

I have a Luminaire and love it. I’m still learning features and have had 1 two day dealer class. The new update included a ‘training’ workbook that I’m pretty excited to try.

I have the Solaris and love her! I traded in a Bernina 880+ for mine. Some of the features that sold me on the Solaris are: IQ Designer; camera, scanner, and projector for perfect placement; the large touch screen; the background fills; and it is so much easier to use than the 880 (I do miss the jumbo bobbins on the Bernina, but that's about the only thing.)
