Cleaning hoops

What works best for removing spray adhesive from embroidery hoops? Thanks

I Googled it and found lots of answers. This one may help you.

Edited to add: Another one https://www.machineembroiderygeek.co...han-you-think/

When I was doing machine embroidery, I never sprayed near my hoops. I always took the new piece outside and sprayed it where not even overspray could get near my machine. I had been warned by a friend that she knew someone who paid a fortune to get all the glue cleaned out of her machine, not just the hoops, and waited months to get the machine back.

You can use alcohol to wipe off residue. I don't spray the hoops either when using spray baste.

Spray the back of the item and place onto the hooped stabilizer.

Another option is to use a spot of washable glue stick on the stabilizer and press the item into place.

Thanks for the feedback. I never spray near my machine either. I spray the hooped stabilizer which means usually only the inner hoop gets spray on it. And I do spray lightly. I wonder whether something like GooGone might work. Haven’t had a lot of luck using alcohol.

I use GooGone to clean the residue off, then wash the hoop with soap & water, then dry well with a paper towel. I spray the stabilizer before hooping too.
