I wanted to share a picture from the cloth book that i made for my grand baby for Christmas.
The design is- a duck says quack from Smith Street Designs. Its a simple applique pattern and I had so much fun finding textured fabrics for the animals.
This dog is my favourite.

Adorable book! Love the dimple dot fabrics too. They are so versatile in different projects. Did you use stabilizer or batting in the pages?

I love Smith Street designs. Please show us the rest of the book pages.

Yes RohndaK those the dimple dot fabrics are lots of fun.
The pages were done on a tear away and then when it was removed the pages were sandwiched around batting. It meant the pages couldn't be quilted around the animals because there was a different one on the other side of the batting. So to quilt it I picked a couple of fancy stitches on my machine and used them to tack it all together. The little animal sound badges got sewn on upside down so they can flipped over rather than creating pockets as the pattern suggested. I figured they would only be lost if they were left loose and I felt the focus of the book was more the bright colours and textures. I used velvets, ultra suedes and fleece for some of the animals.
I would love to share the rest of the book but I am a little strapped for time this week. Hope you can bear with me as I drop them in a few at a time.
Perhaps not the best solution but it kept the book from getting too fat.

Thanks for the update! Love the ideas for the sound badges.
