Embroidering on Vinyl

What do you put on top of the piece of vinyl (faux leather) to make machine run smoothly, want to make a purse. Thanks

I believe that it was suggested that you use tissue paper, but I can't remember if it went on the bottom or the top. Mr. Google is probably your best friend for this type question.

I have used baking paper too, parchment, it worked well. There are teflon sheets to make the machine bed smooth, and there are teflon feet available. The right needle stitches through faux leather with out trouble. I usually have no trouble with out any thing special on my flatbed (a 201), but leathers can vary a lot.

I use a "Roller" foot. I use it for vinyl, Velcro, basically anything that you have trouble sewing.

I recommend using a tearaway paper.

I've used vinyl many times with embroidery and have had no issues with it bunching up or the foot sticking to it during the stitchout. may depend on the type of vinyl though, mine is not the type the sticks to the foot.

I too have embroidered on vinyl just like normal embroidery, but it is better if your design was digitized for vinyl, but I have used a few that weren't with success. I think it has less stitches, because of needle holes.
