Ironing finished projects

My second question within minutes!! I am brand new to embroidery. I completed a project today that I am going to frame. Do you iron your projects prior to framing? If so do you use steam? Do you iron front side or back side up? How do you place your project in a picture frame?
Sorry so many questions!! Thanks for your help!!

Place a towel down on your ironing surface and iron your embroidery from the back. The towel will help the stitches to not flatten out. I use starch when I iron. Haven't framed anything.

I fabric frame a lot of mine. I just stitch on coordinating borders, layer a thin batting and backing, put right sides together with the batting on the bottom, turn, do a close edge stitch around it and either stitch a hanging sleeve on the back or put hanging tabs on while stitching the sandwich together. Less costly and I rather like the look, just an option for you.

Some people recommend not covering any fabric work of art with glass especially if you live in a humid area as mold can develop behind the glass.
