I use Glisten, made by Glide. It comes in several colors and I have very few thread breaks with it...https://allstitch.com/collections/fi...thread-730-yds

Here is a link to the one I use. No issues with breaks. You may need to use a thread stand to create distance as the thread unwinds. This is the one our LQS sells too.

One thing that helps with metallic thread is to use a net on yhe spool, it helps stop kinking.

Kingstar, aka Exquisite metallic. No issues with kinks or breakage.

Just don't use your machine's auto thread cutter on metallic threads. It's really hard on them.

I took a class from David Taylor. We used different metallic threads to practice. Everyone's favorite hands down was Superior Glitter. Use a size 90/14 Organ needle and low tension. Following his instruction not one person had broke or frayed thread or messed up bobbin stitches which was amazing considering every brand and age of machine was in class. The main thing was needle size, type and even brand of needles for each one of the metallic threads per machine. The guy knows his thread and needles.

He recommended the Thread Director to use on all machines for any flat thread or at least a thread stand.

My favourite is by Marathon threads.
