Tree fo Life

This is my new project, Tree of Life by Anitta GooDesign, it is probably more a wall hanging than a quilt. It consists of 70
front panels and 70 Rear, They are mostly embroidered and applique, and some with just stipple patterns. There are separate leaves that are applique, which are embroidered with family names that are attached to different limbs of the tree after the quilt is finished. I have completed all 70 front panels and was able to merge two files onto the hoop at a time as it's 10"x 15" in size and saved a lot of time hooping and wasting materials. The attachments are the design and a few of the completed panels

That is a beautiful design and quite intensive work to complete. Your quilt will be a treasure.

I've seen one of these quilts done with blue and aqua threads. Love your thread colors too.

I have seen this one finished and it was gorgeous! It was made for and given to a couple for their 50th anniversary, by a sister in law. I wish 100 times I would have taken a picture of it when she laid it out. Please show us your finish.

Have diced up the front seventy panels, and have gone with 1/2 in border. I need to trim the Vliseline H640 back to the border sew line so I can piece it together. I have made my own george trimmer with a 14 x 4-inch ruler and epoxyed a 1/2 inch alloy angle strip, which cost $12 to make. Had to buy a 60cm rotary cutter to use with the angle ruler

Have started to piece it together and I am about halfway through. Some of the stipplings don't quite line up but this is in the file and I wouldn't expect it to be perfect all the time. I would rather the edges align than a circle be off a 1/16. Hope to have the rest finished in the next day or so.

Absolutely gorgeous! You must be proud!

Yes, they can end up off a little bit. I sometimes take out the tack down line of stitching after the blocks are put together.

Hi RondaK When I am embroidering the panel, through experience, I skip the second tack down, and the inner stitch lines now, this doesn't mean anyone else should. I found that they get in the way when piecing and get in the way when making adjustments, assembling parts together (wiggle room), much easier to adjust on the fly, sometimes they can bunch up and misalign lines. The next job is to stipple the back with the same stipple pattern as used behind the front embroidery panels
here are the rest of the panels
