LOL, I only fit the having my own sewing room category. I'm younger than the average age and don't think I have that much invested in tools and fabric.

Interesting find, though!

####Nope

*About 85 percent of quilters have a room dedicated to quilting activities at home.

####Yes, DH built me a nice studio abouve the laundry room and double car garage.

*On average, a quilter will have $8500.00 worth of tools and supplies for quilting.

####I have less then that into tools and quilting supplies if fabric is not included and counted seperate.

*A quilter will also have $3700.00 invested in purchased fabric.

#####I have no idea but I am pretty sure it is way more then that especially if you count the fabric into quilts that are finnished and live at their new homes.

Is this you? I know I fall in that category. Give me your thoughts.
####Scarey isn't it? LOL I try not to think $ when it comes to quilting.

LOL!

35, with a landing that is probably 12x12? that is my sewing "room".
Counting all my sewing machines, *MAYBE* $2k in equipment. K. Maybe $3k.
Fabric...well, that's a whole other thing. Are they counting RETAIL or actual price paid? Because I'm a good deal-scouter.

Not quite 62 yet...'only' 56
Finally got my own room just for sewing last year
My Bernina might put me close to the $8,500 but I refuse to count it all up! I can't believe that I'm even close. 'closing my eyes, covering my ears & saying lalalalala'
I do have a nice little stash but not that nice! LOL!!!

I fit 3/4 items of that profile. I am 62, have a sewing room (in which I have a futon so it serves as a second guest room), and probably have nearly that much invested in fabric, thread, batting, etc. (at $8-9/yd it doesn't take long to add up to $3500; but I don't think my quilting/sewing tools total $8500. I have several (well, five) sewing machines but they are all old or, if newer, not expensive ones. Other items are primarily necessities with only a few extras thrown in.

I'm 35 and heavily tattooed! I have a small area that I sew in and I do not have that much invested in fabric and tools!

*Sew at the kitchen table.
*Even with my Brother maching I MIGHT have 1500 dollars worth of tools and supplies.
*If I have 150 dollars worth of purchased fabric I'm lucky! (lol its good quality just not much of it!)
You are still young yet. Give it time!!!! LOL
