Default 12 wt Sulky Thread

Hi,

I need to do a blanket stitch around my double wedding ring and I want to use black thread in my machine. All I have is a 12wt or a 50wt. (I am using 1930's fabrics and I like this look.) And of course I want to do this today!

Which would be better? Will 12wt work ok in my machine?

Try both on some scrap and see which one works best in your machine and which one you like best.

I use 12 wt Sulky on top and Sulky 30wt in the bobbin of my Bernina 153QE all the time for quilting. Never had a problem with it.

12wt is thicker so you may have to loosen your tension a bit and make sure to use at least a 16/100 needle because of the thickness or you may have a lot of shredding. I learned this the hard way
